On Saturday, October 25th, at 7pm, KCSB and UCSB’s MCC are teaming up for their most ambitious collaboration ever, the “Hello World! Free Isla Vista Concert,” which features three major acts: Chicano Batman, a Los Angeles “indie” quartet, the mexico68 Afrobeat Orchestra (from L.A.’s Eastside), and the Tijuana-based electronic-music trio Los Macuanos.
This is a FREE nighttime concert in Anisq’oyo’ Park (and part of the MCC’s new “Isla Vista Matters” events series & KCSB’s “It’s Not Just In Your Head” Events Calendar).
Echo Park Rising is a neighborhood event in it’s 4th year that focuses on the music, creativity, diversity and small businesses of Echo Park. There are multiple stages and activities throughout the weekend located on the main routes of Sunset Blvd, Glendale Blvd, Alvarado Avenue and Echo Park Avenue and beyond.
Lueders Park in Compton is the seventh site for the LACMA9 Art+Film Lab. Area residents are invited to participate in free film workshops, an oral history project, outdoor film screenings, plus a free day at LACMA. The event is presented by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in collaboration with The City of Compton Parks and Recreation.
